Best time to visit Isla Mujeres

When it comes to timing your visit to Isla Mujeres, we’ve found that there’s really no bad time. However, we’ve had some of our best experiences during the shoulder seasons when the weather is still fantastic but the crowds are fewer.

Isla Mujeres Weather

We’ve visited during different times of the year, and each time the weather was hot and sunny, with occasional quick but heavy showers that never lasted long enough to ruin our plans.

  • Shoulder Seasons: April to May, November to mid-December. Our visits during the shoulder seasons were particularly memorable. The prices for accommodations and activities were more affordable, and we didn’t have to deal with large crowds. Plus, the weather was still perfect for all the outdoor activities we love, like snorkeling and watching those unforgettable sunsets.,
  • High Season: January to April. If you don’t mind the crowds and are looking for a more vibrant atmosphere, the high season has its own set of perks, including a wider range of activities and events. Just be prepared for higher prices and make sure to book your flights to Isla Mujeres and accommodations well in advance.
  • Low Season: September to Mid-December. Visiting during the low season can be a unique experience. You’ll have more of the island to yourself, but keep in mind that some businesses may be closed.
